Adopting a dog or cat from the Destitute Animal Shelter Bolton is a rewarding experience that gives a vulnerable animal a second chance at a loving home. However, pet ownership is a lifelong commitment that requires careful consideration. Providing food, veterinary care, exercise, and companionship is essential to ensuring a pet’s happiness and well-being. Many of our rescued animals have faced hardship, and they need stability, patience, and kindness to thrive. Before adopting, it’s important to assess whether your lifestyle, time, and resources can meet an animal’s needs. At our shelter, we are dedicated to matching pets with responsible, caring owners who can offer them a safe and happy future.

Adoption fee:
£250 for a dog.
Adoption fee:
£100 for a cat.
£150 for a kitten.
IMPORTANT: If you rent your property, please make sure you have permission from your landlord before applying for a cat or dog.
Stray Animals: We are still taking in stray cats. For stray dogs, please contact the dog warden or Manchester Dogs Home. We can take dogs as emergencies only, over the weekend.

Kennel Viewing: By Appointment ONLY.

Meet our best boy Fredrick, Fredrick has been living his best life as our office cat for the last few weeks as he sadly has been poorly with cat flu so needed to be away from the other cats. He is still snuffly but he is doing so well!
Teddy is a handsome, loving, friendly boy who loves attention and loves a fuss! Teddy is used to outdoor access so he needs a home where he can spend time exploring outside too.
Meet The Governor, handsome, friendly and very sweet. Unlike the name suggests The Governor is actually a little shy and reserved, he takes some time to come round but when he does he loves attention and is a real lap cat ❤️
George is a very handsome boy who loves to play and loves his cuddles! He is very friendly and is a sweet bundle of joy.
Jasmine is a very sweet girl who came to us with 5 kittens! She was a very good Mum and now that her kittens have all grown up she is looking for her new home too.
Tiggy can be a little nervous when you first meet her, but give her a little time and she soon comes around. Once she feels comfortable, she absolutely loves head scratches, fuss and affection. 🥹💕 She really is a lovely girl with so much love to give.
