Barney came into our care via the police after an incredibly difficult start to life. It is clear that he has had very little positive human interaction and has missed out on the training, guidance, and stability that every young dog deserves.

Because of his past experiences, Barney is not currently ready for adoption. He struggles with resource guarding and has never learned how to live appropriately in a home environment. Our team and behaviourist are working closely with him to teach him important life skills, build his confidence, and help him understand boundaries and good manners. We are essentially teaching Barney how to be a dog and giving him the tools he needs to succeed in the future.

Despite the challenges he faces, Barney is a wonderful young boy with so much potential. He is incredibly playful, loves his toys, and always likes to have one close by for comfort. He also enjoys spending time with his doggy friends and shows us every day just how much he wants to learn and trust.

Barney’s journey will take time, patience, and ongoing behavioural support, but we are committed to helping him become the happy, well-adjusted dog he deserves to be.
