Fostering

We are excited to announce that we are now offering opportunities for short-term fostering. This option is available when our shelter reaches capacity or if a dog or cat isn’t thriving in the shelter environment. Short-term fostering may also be required for animals with medical emergencies or behavioural challenges that need specialised attention in a home setting.

Fostering a Cat or Dog

For some of our shelter residents, adoption may not always be the most suitable solution due to factors such as advanced age or chronic health conditions.

To address this, we operate a foster scheme specifically for elderly cats and dogs in our care. These animals often have ongoing medical needs and are ineligible for insurance coverage. As part of this scheme, we cover all veterinary bills and routine medical treatments, while foster carers are responsible for providing love, exercise, and food for the remainder of the animal’s life.

New Fostering Form

To streamline the process, we have introduced two new fostering forms. Please ensure you complete both as part of your application. The fostering agreement remains in place to outline roles and responsibilities clearly.
