Our Kennel Sponsorship Program
Here at the Destitute Animals Shelter, we are dedicated to caring for the abandoned dogs and cats of the Bolton area. We have a non-destruction policy and are committed to reducing the unwanted cat and dog population by neutering every animal that we re-home. During our efforts we help, love and rehome over 500 animals per year!
However, with the cost of caring for any animal steadily rising, we need your help. Our animal shelter is totally dependent on the generosity of people like you to help us to care for those who have no-one. We do not receive any government funding — rather subsidising on donations, sponsors, and various fundraising events.
By sponsoring a kennel, you help us to maintain the high standards that our animals deserve and support the long-term sustainability of our shelter.
Your Sponsorship Makes a Difference
We accommodate all dietary/allergy requirements for our residents; with a variety of options and nutritionally balanced meals including raw, and grain free wet & dry food for both our dogs and cats. We ensure that every animal enclosure is fully disinfected daily and freshen any bedding – making a cosy, warm and safe environment for all our residents. We also work closely with numerous local veterinary facilities to ensure that every animal that leaves our care is fully health checked, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
As a Sponsor, you will receive:
- A personalised section on our kennel sponsorship board in reception, in your name, your families or a beloved pet.
- A heartfelt certificate of appreciation.
- Monthly updates on the resident of your kennel, be that cat or dog, and updates when they are adopted!
Our kennel sponsors are essential as we can budget more effectively than we can on one-off donations. This means that we can all have more peace of mind, knowing our kennel sponsors will support us each month! You may stop your sponsorship whenever, for whatever reason – so, there is no better time to become a DAS kennel sponsor!

Monthly Dog Kennel Sponsorship - £40 a month.

How do I set up the Direct Debit for my kennel sponsorship?
You can set up your Direct Debit by completing our sponsorship form online and then completing your direct debit details with GoCardless. If you want to sponsor more than one kennel, or if you want to pay more to sponsor a kennel, we can send you a specific link to set this up.
What information do I need to provide to start the Direct Debit?
We will need your business name, contact details, bank account name, sort code, and account number. All information is handled securely and in line with data protection requirements.
When will the first payment be taken from our account?
The first payment is usually collected within 10–14 working days of the Direct Debit being set up. We will notify you in advance of the exact date.
Will we receive confirmation once the Direct Debit is active?
Yes. You will receive written, email confirmation from Destitute Animals Shelter, and from GoCardless confirming the payment amount, schedule, and the date of the first collection.
Who do we contact if our bank details change?
Please inform Destitute Animals Shelter as soon as possible by email or phone so we can update your Direct Debit safely and avoid any missed payments.
Is the Direct Debit covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee?
Yes. All payments are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee, which means you are entitled to an immediate refund from your bank in the unlikely event of an error.
Can we cancel the Direct Debit at any time?
Yes. You may cancel your Direct Debit directly with your bank at any time. We would appreciate you letting us know so we can update our records and discuss other ways you might wish to continue supporting us.
Will we receive receipts or invoices for accounting purposes?
Yes. We can provide invoices, receipts, or annual statements to support your business accounting requirements.
What happens if a payment fails or is returned unpaid?
If a payment is not successful, we will contact you to let you know and to arrange a convenient way to resolve the missed instalment.
Can more than one kennel be sponsored under the same Direct Debit?
Yes. Multiple kennels can be sponsored through a single Direct Debit, and we can tailor a package to reflect your level of support. You will need to contact us to arrange a specific agreement in order to set this up for you.
Is there a minimum sponsorship term or commitment period?
We welcome ongoing support, but there is no fixed contract period unless you choose an annual package. You remain in control of your payments.
How will the sponsorship appear on our bank statement?
Payments will appear with a reference to Destitute Animals Shelter so they are easy to identify.
